On 4 March 2026, ATC’s Kuala Lumpur campus hosted the Legal Education Fair 2026 — the first of the year — bringing academics and admissions representatives from eight of our UK partner universities onto campus to meet students face to face.
For students on the UK Degree Transfer Programme, the fair is the point in the year where an abstract decision becomes a concrete one. Which university, which city, which modules — answered by the people who actually run the admissions process.
Universities at the Legal Education Fair 2026
Eight of ATC’s ten UK partner universities took part, in person or virtually:
Aberystwyth University — Aberystwyth, Wales
Cardiff University — Cardiff, Wales
Northumbria University — Newcastle upon Tyne
University of East Anglia — Norwich
University of Essex — Colchester
University of Leicester — Leicester
University of Sheffield — Sheffield
UWE Bristol — Bristol
Students who complete their first year, or first and second years, at ATC transfer to one of these institutions to finish the degree — and graduate with the same certificate as students who spent all three years there.
Visa application workshop with UKEC
The United Kingdom Education Centre (UKEC) ran a practical session walking students through the UK student visa process — documentation, financial evidence, timelines and the mistakes that most often cause delays. For families budgeting a year abroad, the visa stage is where avoidable problems usually surface.
Academic insights from partner faculty
Faculty from partner institutions delivered talks and workshops, some in person and some connecting virtually. Sessions covered entry requirements and module selection alongside the parts of studying abroad that prospectuses tend to skip — accommodation, cost of living, settling into a new city, and what the first term actually feels like.
A fair that went ahead regardless
Travel disruptions and flight cancellations in the weeks before the event affected several guests. Some rearranged their journeys to attend anyway; others joined virtually so students would not lose the session.
ATC is grateful to every international guest who made the trip and to those who made special arrangements to join us remotely. Their commitment is the reason the Legal Education Fair 2026 worked.
Frequently asked questions
When is the next Legal Education Fair at ATC?
ATC hosts education fairs and partner university visits throughout the year at both our KL and Penang campuses. Follow our News & Events page for announcements, or contact the admissions team to hear about the next session before it is announced publicly.
Who can attend the fair?
The Legal Education Fair 2026 was open to current ATC students and to prospective students considering a UK law degree. School leavers with SPM, STPM, A Levels or UEC results are welcome at future editions, together with their parents.
Which universities can ATC students transfer to?
ATC partners with ten UK universities across England and Wales. Eight of them attended this year’s fair in person or virtually, and admissions staff from all partner institutions are reachable through ATC throughout the year.
Do I need to attend a fair to apply?
No. The fair is the easiest way to meet several universities in one afternoon, but you can speak to our admissions team about the UK Degree Transfer Programme at any time of year.
Considering a UK law degree?
The UK Degree Transfer Programme lets you begin your law degree in Malaysia and complete it at a UK partner university. If you would rather study entirely in Malaysia, the University of London LLB is offered at both our KL and Penang campuses.
Compare our law programmes or speak to an advisor about the next intake.
