Lawyer Rajsurian Pillai of Messrs Surian spoke to our students and guests on the importance of Freedom of Speech and Expression in a modern democracy. He had just come off defending a public figure from attempts to silence his creative works that were satirical of the government. Mr. Surian shared his experiences and went on to explain why this right must not be limited.
The talk was ably moderated by our very own Mr. Sharavanaa Mahendran, Senior Lecturer and Head of ATC’s Hong Kong operations. He kept the talk moving well. There were many questions from the eager students and Mr. Surian handled them well and in an entertaining fashion.
ATC records its gratitude to Mr. Surian for his time.
